Whether you’re planning a home birth, considering a hospital birth, or haven’t yet decided where you would like your baby to be born, your care can be shaped around you.

Choose from comprehensive private midwifery care throughout pregnancy, birth and the fourth trimester, or focused private birth support for the period when having your own midwife beside you matters most.

One midwife your whole journey

For couples in West Midlands, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Worcestershire & Warwickshire ready to secure their Midwife for 2027

Are you ready to birth with total calm and confidence?

You deserve someone on your side who knows your name, your history, and your birth preferences, not a rotating cast of strangers meeting you for the first time in labour.

With a known and trusted midwife by your side through pregnancy, birth and those early postnatal weeks, you get consistency you can actually rely on.

And your partner won’t be left standing on the sidelines wondering what to do. They’ll have support too, so they can show up for you instead of just feeling out of their depth.

Jane Doe

My experience.

Your birth.

You want to know who will be beside you when labour begins. You want to be listened to, to understand your options and to have an experienced midwife who already knows what matters to you.

And when something changes, you want someone beside you who has seen enough birth to recognise what matters – and what doesn’t.

With nearly four decades in maternity care, I bring experience that goes far beyond the number of births I have attended. It’s the ability to recognise the subtle changes in labour, remain calm when plans shift, know when to wait and when something needs attention, and help you make informed decisions without taking those decisions away from you.

I established From Bumps 2 Babies in 2008 to provide a different kind of maternity care: personal, independent and built around the individual rather than a standard pathway.

That means we have time.

Time to talk properly. Time to explore your options. Time to prepare for the birth you want. And time for me to know you well enough that, when labour begins, you aren’t meeting the person supporting you for the first time.

Premier — £18,000

For clients who expect their maternity care to be as considered and individual as every other part of their lives. Premier provides one experienced independent midwife from seven weeks of pregnancy, dedicated time throughout pregnancy and birth, and carefully coordinated specialist care. It is a personal service, built around your circumstances rather than a fixed pathway.

Who this care is for

Premier is for clients who value discretion, continuity and direct access to the person responsible for their care. You may have a demanding professional life, travel frequently, work with private healthcare providers or simply prefer to keep your public life private. You do not need to explain why privacy matters to you. I will work with you respectfully, confidentially and without assumptions.

Appropriate professional indemnity arrangements are maintained for the independent midwifery services provided.

FAQs about Premier Service

Does Premier include private scans and NIPT?

Yes. Premier includes a private ultrasound scan and NIPT. I can help coordinate the test, collect the sample where appropriate and arrange laboratory return. NIPT is a screening test, not a diagnosis.

How does Premier accommodate clients who need greater privacy and discretion?

Privacy and confidentiality are central to my practice. We can agree how appointments are arranged, how I communicate with you and how specialist services are coordinated — discreet, individual care without assumptions, while maintaining my professional and safeguarding responsibilities.

Will you stay with me if I choose or need a hospital birth?

I can provide continuous professional support alongside the hospital team, subject to the hospital’s arrangements. The hospital clinicians remain responsible for clinical care delivered in hospital.

Why hire an independent midwife?

You expect consistency and expertise in every part of your life. Your birth deserves the same. As your private independent midwife, I’m your clinical advocate from your first appointment to your fourth trimester: the same expert, the same relationship, the same standard throughout. The evidence shows continuous support leads to statistically better outcomes for both mother and baby (Dekker, 2017).

One relationship, not a rotation.

You get me. Not whoever happens to be on shift. I know your history, your preferences and your birth plan inside out, because I’ve been with you from the start.

Time that isn’t rationed.

Appointments that run as long as they need to, not as long as a stretched system allows. Questions answered properly, not squeezed into a ten minute slot.

A genuine say in your care.

Birth isn’t something that happens to you. With continuous, one-to-one support, you’re informed, involved and in control of the decisions that matter, with someone in your corner who knows you well enough to advocate properly.

Nearly four decades of expertise, focused entirely on you.

This isn’t a service squeezed between fifty other caseloads. It’s my full attention, my full experience, and my complete focus on getting you the outcome you want.

What should I expect?

Before the birth: your advocate at every appointment

My support starts long before labour. I’m in the room at your medical appointments, helping you cut through pressure and coercive language so you can make informed decisions, not rushed ones. With induction rates climbing and intervention becoming the default rather than the exception, having someone who knows the evidence and will stand firmly beside you changes what’s possible.

01

02

During labour: reading you, protecting your space

I read the room, and I read you. Your mood shifts, and I shift with it, responding to your body language in whatever way you need in that moment, without a word needing to be said. My focus is entirely on you: your emotional state, your physical needs, nothing else. I’ll be your constant companion and advocate, so you’re free to stay in your own rhythm, undisturbed. That protection matters. It’s what keeps your labour hormones flowing exactly as they should.

After the birth: mothering the mother

Bringing your baby home is just the beginning, and I’m still right there with you. While you recover, physically and emotionally, from birth, my focus turns to you. Feeding, healing, sleep, adjusting to this huge new reality: I support all of it, so you feel held rather than left to figure it out alone. This is mothering the mother, and it’s every bit as much a part of my care as the birth itself.

03

The evidence-backed benefits

This isn’t guesswork or marketing spin. The research is consistent, and it points the same direction every time.

Women who have continuous, one-to-one midwifery care are statistically less likely to need a caesarean birth, less likely to need an instrumental delivery, and less likely to need pain relief in labour. They’re less likely to be induced and more likely to have a shorter labour. They also report higher satisfaction with their birth experience overall, and are more likely to breastfeed successfully, if that’s what they want.

Put simply: the outcomes speak for themselves. This is what happens when care is consistent, informed and built entirely around you (Dekker, 2017).

The postnatal support was invaluable. Having Linda check in on us at home during those first two weeks gave us immense peace of mind.
